Our client in Alpharetta has the need for a JBOSS administrator for a contract to hire position.  Summary:
Coordinates and implements JBoss performance tuning activities within production, test, and development environments. Provides on-call support for production JBoss application instances. Monitors, collects, and publishes performance and availability metrics related to the application environments.

Performs problem determination and analysis and executes corrective activity.  Participates in production turnover requests to ensure readability, restart ability and appropriate documentation. Responsible for ensuring infrastructure integrity, optimal performance and maximum service availability by recommending industry best practices for component maintenance, identifying problems and inefficiencies in the current environment and making strategic recommendations for future improvements.

Planning and management of changes designed to improve the stability, performance, and security of the overall product platform. Candidate should be experienced with formal change management procedures, documentation, testing, validation, and back-out plans.



Job Restrictions:

Required Experienced with… 
Jboss administration and tuning, Java performance monitoring and tuning, UNIX shell scripting, apache web server, firewalls, Networking, NAT, SSL, SSH, DNS, CVS 
(will consider a Sr level Weblogic Admin with some JBOSS experience)

Familiar with… 
WAR and EAR tools, Java application deployments, J2EE concepts, Oracle database stored procedures, firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, clustering technologies, application servers, message queuing, source code repositories 


Ideal candidate also has experience with… 
JBossON, Solaris, Apache, Oracle 10g, IBM’s MQ, Ant 

Working Conditions 
Some travel 
Overtime may be required 
Use of a pager/laptop when on call
