The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing software systems, as required, to support the program goals. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to work with little direct supervision on multiple projects concurrently. Additionally, the Senior Engineer must be willing and able to coordinate the work of junior engineering staff. 

Responsibilities:
•	Develop new software systems based on specifications
•	Maintain and evolve existing software systems
•	Document implementation of software systems
•	Troubleshoot issues in existing systems
•	Provide on call support
•	Develop and maintain unit tests for software components in development
•	Participate in requirements gathering and definition efforts
•	Provide accurate estimates in support of project planning efforts
•	Respond quickly and effectively to bugs
•	Maintain and develop expert knowledge of industry best practices

Qualifications:
•	Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent program of study
•	6 years of experience in software development
•	Experience with high-performance software systems
•	Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques – Ruby experience is a plus
•	Strong knowledge of web application frameworks and patterns (Struts, Spring, JSF, MVC) – Rails experience is a plus
•	Strong knowledge of Internet/Web technologies and languages including Javascript, CSS and HTML – Ajax experience is a plus
•	Strong knowledge of relational database structures
•	User interface development experience
•	Exceptional problem solving skills
•	Experience with one or more agile development methodologies

•	Development Tools (CVS, Subversion, Cruise Control)
•	Testing Frameworks (N-Unit preferred)
•	Relational Databases (SQL Server preferred)
