A premier Thompson Technologies client has a permanent opportunity for a talented Senior Java Developer. This position is with a well funded start up company in the travel industry. Travel and lodging benefits will be included in our client’s competitive package!!   

Our client is looking for a Senior server side Java Developer who is interested in mentoring a staff of junior developers.  The preferred candidate will have exceptional experience in: Java, Sun, Eclipse IDE, Linux, AJAX and web applications.    

In this role your responsibilities will include:                    

Driving technical project direction and performing server side JAVA programming as well as mentoring junior software developers.   

Selecting and leading projects as well as working with product managers and project managers to drive development.   
Creating and communicating technical designs based on functional requirements. 

Compensation is extremely competitive – and will be based on fair market value and experience.  ALL CANDIDATES will be required to take a programming assessment test.

Job Restrictions:

The required skills and experience include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. 

Strong development, project management, team leading and problem solving skills. 

Adherence to software development and configuration management process, procedures, and standards. 

EXCEPTIONAL understanding of linux, java (sun, ajax, JDK, Eclipse IDE), and web applications. 

Experience with MySQL  a major plus.
