Our client is in search of an experienced Java Architect/Developer for a full time position in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. This Java Engineer will be responsible for the architecture and new development of several new businesses services applications.
Basic Job Responsibilities:
Competent to work on the most complex programming and analysis projects with minimal guidance and supervision. - Understands and translates business needs into system requirements. - Prepares detailed design specifications from which programs will be coded. tested, debugged, produces documentation for those newly written or modified programs. This position will involve approximately 40% design and 60% hands on coding. - Devises or modifies procedures to solve problems using information systems. - Is able to work under tight project deadlines. Essential Responsibilities - Programming - Web development using any of the following languages in order of descending importance; Java, PHP, C#, or .Net., GUI/Web/OpenEdge development experience. - Encodes prepares test data, tests and debugs programs at various complexity levels. - Writes structured well organized and documents, highly maintainable programs. - Prepares test data, test scenarios and test plans that ensure programs are working correctly prior to release. - Follows department standards and procedures. - Produces Project Life Cycle (PLC) documentation

Skills and Experience:
- Analyzes the requirements for a program and defines its overall structures. - Analyses system / program problems and defines solutions. Prepares both functional and technical specifications. - Performs business analysis and translates into specifications and develops all level of logic flow charts. - Provides assistance to other staff members on selected functional and technical issues. Assist in the estimating and scheduling of a project/ project tasks. - Assists in software package evaluation and setting departmental standards and procedures. - Monitors changes in technology. - Remains up-to-date on current industry trends through academic courses, reading, etc. - Provides support to user groups and other developmental groups to resolve system problems. Education: - Require a bachelor's degree in computer science or other related degree or an equivalent in education and experience.
