Provide overall presales technical consulting in the areas of enterprise portal and group collaboration, including scope development of integration services, hardware requirements, and custom software development.

Must have experience in full-lifecycle software development beginning with presales through production deployment.  Architecture and development experience with WebSphere Portal and Lotus Domino a must.  Experience required with major J2EE specifications as well as common frameworks.  Experience required with common multiplatform RDBMS systems, preferably DB2 or Oracle from an application development standpoint.  Experience required with design methodologies.  

The role of the Presales Technical Architect is to properly design and scope development and integration services for portal and collaboration solutions.  This includes defining and documenting proposals to deliver these solutions according to plan and within budget.
Ÿ Work with sales and business development to gather customer requirements, develop and design solutions, and provide technical scope for all project proposals.
Ÿ Define, in collaboration with senior management, how the scope, goals, and deliverables of the business unit should support business objectives.
Ÿ Define project success criteria and disseminate to delivery team.
Ÿ Effectively communicate and manage proposal expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
Ÿ Partner with the delivery team and senior management to ensure project proposals are both technically feasible and financially viable.
Ÿ Coach, mentor, and motivate team members.
60 percent travel to scope projects.

Ÿ 7+ years of lifecycle application development and architecture experience.
Ÿ 4+ years of Java/J2EE experience.
Ÿ 2+ years experience in customer-facing solution design.
Ÿ Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or business administration.
Ÿ Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments.
Ÿ Development experience using Enterprise Java specifications.
Ÿ Ability to effectively work with technical and non-technical customers to gather requirements and define technical scope.
Ÿ Experience architecting, developing, and/or implementing WebSphere Portal Server V5 or greater.
Ÿ Experience architecting, developing, and/or implementing Lotus Domino V6.5 or greater.
Ÿ Experience administering WebSphere Application Server V5 or greater.
Ÿ Experience documenting solutions with UML.
Ÿ Experience with IBM HTTP Server or Apache HTTP Server.
Ÿ Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
Ÿ Solid leadership skills.
Ÿ Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Ÿ Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ÿ Ability to read communication styles of project team leads, team members, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
Ÿ Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

Ÿ IBM Certified Solution Developer - IBM WebSphere Portal V5.0.
Ÿ IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM WebSphere Portal V5.0.
Ÿ IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino V6 or greater.
Ÿ IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino V6 or greater.
Ÿ Certified in some RDBMS (Oracle, DB2).
Ÿ IBM certified e-business solution designer, sales, or technologist.
