Internap Network Services, the leading provider of high performance network routing and optimization solutions, seeks a Software Engineer to join our IT Development & Integration team. The person in this position will contribute to Internap’s success by designing and developing Web-based software in a multi-tiered environment. Our current environment includes Java and Perl-based applications that interact with Oracle and third-party applications running on Linux and Solaris; looking to the future, we will be moving to a mostly Java environment while introducing an SOA layer.
	
Responsibilities: 	
	
    * Design and build Web-based applications
    * Design, develop, and maintain server-side components and API’s to support the development of in-house applications and integration with off-the-shelf systems. These components will be developed as part of our Service Oriented Architecture initiative
    * Contribute to the selection, design, development, and maintenance of infrastructure technology (e.g. Web Services, SOA, Enterprise Service Bus, messaging, security, notification, workflow)
    * Assist with operational support of applications, data, and databases
    * Assist with the evaluation, selection, and integration of new technology into the information systems architecture as Internap continuously strives for systems and process improvement
    * Work in a small team environment with Project Managers, Database Administrators, Systems Engineers, Business Analysts, and internal clients

	
Qualifications: 	

  The applicant must have the following qualifications:

    * Software development in a team environment (3+ years professional experience)
    * Understanding of and experience with the full software development lifecycle in a team setting
    * Object-oriented design and development
    * Java (J2EE/JSP/Servlets), LDAP, SQL, Perl, XML
    * Experience collecting requirements from users and interacting with non-technical individuals
    * Unix/Linux
    * Team player, self motivated
    * Strong communication and organization skills

  The following skills are highly desired:

    * Web Services, XSL, Hibernate, Struts, Velocity
    * Mod_perl, Apache: ASP
