This position is for a self-motivated professional that contributes to highly skilled teams in all phases of software engineering, from requirements definition through deployment and operation. The individual provides technical leadership in the delivery of market-leading e-business systems that incorporate advanced commercial tools, and emphasize extensible design and scalable system architecture. This position delivers components of design, code, and test code, and they help to build the team and refine processes. They assist in project management, technical requirements definition, and technical sales support. They provide leadership on complex internal development projects and implementations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
-  Prepare technical requirements and specifications and object oriented design documents that address business requirements. 
-  Evaluate business requirements and create estimates and project plans for development efforts consistent with best practice project methodologies. 
-  Evaluate and recommend third party products and services in support of development requirements. 
-  Deliver extensible, configurable, quality components for either the web application team, or the server and database team. 
-  Perform unit testing and stress testing and deliver test code. 
-  Assist with project management, and develop the knowledge and skills of other team members. 
-  Discuss implementation and testing strategies with the QA team. 
-  Do system analysis for new business requirements. 
-  Architecture system for new features and enhancements. 
-  Document system requirements specifications and system design. 
-  Lead individual projects/modules. 
-  Assist writing and tracking project plans. 
-  Lead implementations. 
-  Handle urgent production issues. 
-  Database schema design and programming. 

Qualifications: 
-  4+ years in software development 
-  4+ years experience with logical and physical relational database design experience, including SQL.  2+ years experience with Oracle database 
-  3+ years Java and J2EE experience.  IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic or Sun ONE experience preferred
-  Experience developing applications for Unix platforms required
-  Experience with JavaScript, XSL, XML, HTML, JSP or third party tools for web page templates, personalization, and content management required
-  Excellent knowledge of object-oriented software design and programming concepts and methodologies required
-  Excellent communication skills to interface with the technical, QA, product development, implementation, and customer groups required
-  e-commerce systems experience desirable
-  Financial processing or banking knowledge desirable

Educational Preferences: 
-  Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering . . . or equivalent experience
