This role as a Web Application Developer will work independently and within the team to build applications that access, analyze and present data. We have a pipeline of intriguing product ideas and client work, and need more ability to pursue opportunities. We work with a variety of technologies including Flex, Python/Django, and Java. In this role, you will perform technical design, code implementation, unit testing, and integration testing. You will also be expected to manage code via source control tools (client uses Mercurial internally). 

This is a role for someone who wants to challenge themselves and learn every day.

You must be located in either the Atlanta or DC metro areas. 

You must have real technical experience in a majority of the following areas: development in ActionScript or JavaScript; Java or Python application development; data exchange using XML or JSON; measurement and improvement of application performance. 

You must be a good team member by sharing your expertise, communicating copiously, and being curious about the big picture. 

You must have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task. You will need to work independently without the kind of cloying oversight found in big organizations.

Requirements: 
Demonstrate problem analysis, technical design, and programming techniques 
Substantial knowledge of web-based architecture 
2+ years of web-based application development 
2+ years of ActionScript or JavaScript development 
2+ years of Java or Python application development 
2+ years of data exchange using XML or JSON 
Strong interpersonal skills 
Acute attention to detail 
Strong communication and conceptual skills 


Education: 
B.A. or B.S. degree 

Skills and Experience: 
Comfortable with UNIX command-line interfaces 
Interactive software development using web-based technologies 
Data exchange using web technologies (e.g., XML) over HTTP 
Outstanding conceptual modeling and communication skills 
Measure and improve application performance 
Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, interactive cross-functional team environment 

Pluses: 
Solid understanding of practical benefits and limitations of Internet technologies 
Prior experience in commercial software development life-cycle
