Our client is a successful software consulting firm based in Midtown Atlanta. We have a role for a contract (6 months) J2EE software Engineer The software engineer will work individually and in team environments in the development and maintenance phase 2 of a web based executive compensation application (financial compensation, deferred compensation, 401K etc). The first deliverable is at the end of Q1 2008. after implementation of this first release you will be involved in porting two legacy applications (one is a Coldfusion wrapper on a mainframe system and the other is a JSP based system) to this new J2EE application. Candidates will be expected to have a strong grasp of programming concepts in general. They will also need to exhibit a great capacity to learn and be self-motivated. The environment is casual and fun, but also demanding. Team members are generally expected to be involved in multiple steps in the process. 

Must Have 3 to 5+ years of solid Java work experience 3 to 5+ years JSP/Servlet development experience with MVC framework(s) WebWork, Struts, JSF, Spring MVC, Tapestry, etc.) 3 to 5+ years of SQL development experience (Oracle, MySQL, and/or SQL Server) 1 to 3+ years of ORM experience (Hibernate, iBatis, JPA, etc.) 3 to 5+ years of JavaScript with Advanced concepts (AJAX, JSON, Prototyping, etc.) 3 to 5+ years of CSS/XHTML Ability to configure Apache, Tomcat, and/or other application servers Open Source tools experience (Ant, Junit, Eclipse IDE, Commons, Velocity, Log4J, Subversion) Solid understanding of design patterns and OO concepts Excellent communication skills Ability to mentor less experienced developers 

Nice to Have Recent experience with WebWork or Struts Recent experience with Spring XML/XSLT experience Linux Administration Knowledge Bachelor’s in Computer Science Agile Scrum experience 

Special Considerations Cold Fusion Experience
