Large Corporation in Atlanta is seeking an Associate Manager
Location: Dunwoody/Salary: Open
Temp to Perm or Straight Perm
Position is to be filled by the end of the year.
Seeking 5+ years of development experience in: (Java 5, J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, etc.) but the candidate will not be coding day-to-day
Strong communication skills are required - this is a very collaborative role.
This position will have a number of direct reports (as many as 10) and will be responsible for reviews, mentoring, employee relations, etc. Previous management experience a plus.
Description:
Associate Managers are responsible for managing the implementation of the company’s IT vision and strategy. They must partner with the manager to understand business needs, drivers and direction in order to align company IT assets and initiatives appropriately. They are responsible for planning and development of team members. Associate managers are responsible for participating in projects from specifications and timeline development thru delivery and support to ensure success. This participation may be direct or may require providing matrixed resources for the effort.
Role requires superior communication skills. Associate managers work closely with others across the organization and must be able to clearly and concisely convey concepts and directions to individuals and groups of varying expertise levels.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Establish project and operational satisfaction targets and manage to them
Help recruit and retain qualified IT professionals
Communicate expectations, issues and accomplishments to staff, management and customers
Assist in strategic and operational planning, business process improvement and make overall project improvement recommendations
Establish and adhere to applicable best practices
Work with staff to establish SMART goals and document them
Execute staff training plans
Ensure users/customers are provided effective, professional, and timely support
Stay current of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance
Stay current of hiring trends in the marketplace
Coordinate departmental activities to meet the overall needs of the organization
Help coordinate resource allocation and work with AirTrafficControl
Create estimates for projects and track actuals to improve estimating model over time
Ensure staff adheres to all appropriate processes
Coach staff towards professional maturity
Work to continuously improve business processes
