S1 Corp. is currently seeking a talented, experienced Data Architect to
integrate into a team of developers building Java/J2EE applications for
financial institutions. This position can be located in our Corporate
Headquarters in Atlanta or in our office in Littleton, MA.

The Data Architect works with object oriented designers and application
developers to provide data modeling, data persistence, and data access
expertise in developing an object oriented financial services Java/J2EE
application. The Data Architect also serves as administrator to the data
model, DDL create/upgrade scripts, and physical databases. Additionally,
the Data Architect assists the development teams by providing knowledge
and experience related to designing, implementing and managing
distributed databases. This position also provides technical support to
junior team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating, maintaining, and documenting logical and physical data models
based on project requirement documentation.
• Supporting application development through maintenance of development
databases
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining physical databases based on
logical data models
• Installing and configuring database software
• Creating and documenting various database standards and guidelines. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or
equivalent experience
• 5-7 years experience as a data architect utilizing data modeling and
architecture design tools. PowerDesigner experience preferred
• 3-4 years experience in a DB2 environment.
• 3-4 years architecting data solutions in a Java/J2EE environment. 
• 1-2 years developing Client/Server applications for WebSphere
application server environments
• Experience developing software utilizing a formal software development
methodology such as Rational Unified Process
• Experience utilizing Rational’s ClearQuest and ClearCase tools
• Must have the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems
that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
