JOb description:

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for overall application design and implementation of Informiam’s web based applications. The individual in this position is knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and developing applications and is comfortable in developing requirements and design specifications for new and existing applications. 
Responsibilities include: 
•	Fully participate and/or lead in the design, implementation and deployment phases of Commercial Software.
•	Participate in project planning, project definition, analysis, design, testing and deployment.
•	Build systems implementing new features for deployment across our entire product line.
•	Extend existing applications and systems.
•	Support Technical Support and IT Operations in system debugging and problem resolution efforts as needed.
•	Gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input/output requirements to design application systems to perform well logically and physically
•	Research and evaluate software (such as open source and 3rd party products) and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms
•	Coordinate enhancements and maintenance of application systems, as well as structural changes when necessary
•	Interface with company management to provide ongoing status
•	Write and maintain documentation to describe application development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections
•	Write documentation or review documentation written by others that describes implementation and operating procedures
•	Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications

Job Restrictions:

Skills Required:
•	Comprehensive knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques
•	5 years Java design and development experience
•	3-5 years of web-based interface development
•	2+ years of data exchange using XML
•	Working knowledge of transactional real-time systems.
•	Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
•	Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of projects
•	3 -5 years of Unix development experience
•	2 years experience using Tomcat

Desirable
•	5 years of JavaScript programming experience
•	UI Design and Development experience

Specific Experience:
•	Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent, extensive and related project management experience
•	Seven to ten years of experience in IT with a minimum of three years in application systems design and web based architectures
•	In-depth experience designing and implementing applications
