Our client is a large business solutions company located in Alpharetta, GA that is looking to add a Software Engineer to their growing team. This team will be responsible for rebuilding one of their core offerings from the ground up with cutting edge technologies. BASIC JOB FUNCTION: 

Working as part of the team to engineer, design, develop, test, and implement extreme high volume Internet application software. Reviews and approves architectural documents and/or specifications including business rules, edits, and database specs for web applications with architects, analysts and Oracle DBAs. Designs and develops applications in accordance with specs. Meets engineering, design, and coding deliverable deadlines throughout project lifecycle. Communicate with team leaders and managers on ongoing status, milestones, and success. Leverage direction set by architects to ensure consistency across multiple applications. Able to research, recommend, and introduce new complex technologies consistent with business unit goals. Performs unit and systems testing of applications/solutions. Resolves all defects/issues reported. Troubleshoots and supports solutions on an ongoing basis. Collaborates with Business Partners to ensure solutions are in synch with business strategies and priorities. Mentors and trains less experienced team members in the use and support of the new technologies. Acts as team leader for certain initiatives. 



Job Restrictions:

Education: BS or above in Computer Science or equivalent education-experience. 

Skills and Experience: 7 years experience in software development with strong customer focus. Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Struts, UML, OOAD and multi-tier software architecture. 5+ years hands on experience developing Web application using Java technology including JSP, Servlets, EJB, Java Beans, and JDBC, XML, XSL, XSLT, and Java based XML API's. Familiarity with multiple application servers (Weblogic, WebSphere, iPlanet, Oracle Application Server, etc.). Hands-on technical expertise in MQ Series, XML, HTML, ISAPI, and relational databases (Oracle preferred). Thorough understanding of software development processes and methodologies and knowledge of the complete product development life cycle. 

Experience in RUP and associated tools(Rational Clearcase, Clearquest)is a plus. Ability to act as group lead and mentor less experienced developers. 2+ years Unix/Linux experience desirable. Experience with Toplink or other Object to Relational mapping tool preferable. Experience with implementing and maintaining the Security Layer of a Web Application desirable. Knowledge of PKI Technology, Digital Certificates, SSL, etc. preferred. Knowledge of Webservices, WSDL a plus. Knowledge of Business Objects (Crystal Enterprise) a plus. Experience with application deployment, ANT, Perl, awk, and/or JACL scripting, deployment tools, such as BladeLogic, Novadigm, or Marimba a huge plus.
