Sr. Software Engineer â Implementation
This position will work directly with the IT Director and an engineering team to gather requirements and estimate and schedule tasks. Will also work with a focused engineering team, and must be a hands-on engineer. Will be asked to create UML Models, develop some Java-code for a UNIX deployment and design queries/objects to the ORACLE database, develop Mercator maps and do customer data mapping. Position requires a self-learner who would pick up system knowledge and guide clients and customers to achieve successful implementations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Â· Gathering and understanding requirements.
Â· Development to standards and specifications.
Â· Quality testing and issue resolution.
Â· Style sheet creation and delivery according to specifications.
Â· Data mapping and interface development.
Â· Java scripting and testing.
Â· Writing UNIX shell scripts to run programs.
Â· Use tools like TOAD, SQL Navigator to browse data in various databases.
Â· Give implementation inputs for schema design.
Â· Write SQL procedures for customer implementation.
Â· Attend to customersâ regular integration needs in person as well as by phone.
Â· Assist in debugging and fixing implementation related issues.
Â· Implement customers in Development, QA, Acceptance, and production systems.
Â· Unit test implementations in staging areas.
Â· 5+ years in software integration experience.
Â· 2+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer with web based technologies.
Â· Development on UNIX platforms.
Â· Financial processing or banking knowledge.
Â· Inter-enterprise or e-commerce systems experience.
Â· Client server architecture and object oriented approaches.
Â· Software engineering methodologies, capability maturity model process.
Â· Good writing and communications skills.
Â· A solid understanding of the software product development life cycle.
Â· Mercator experience with older versions a plus.
Â· TOAD, SQL Navigator, Understanding of Schemas.
Â· Should have a strong understanding of Sun, UNIX, NT, System Security, Network Communication/Protocol, Data Transmission, File Transfer.
Bachelorâs degree in CS or Engineering . . . or equivalent experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
