Lead JAVA Developer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Downtown)
Duration: Contract to Hire
 
Required Skills: J2SE, Java 1.2, Servlet, JSP, Oracle 8i

Responsibilities
 
Lead software developer for the development, deployment, maintenance and support of a back-end live event management system. Provide expert Java coding and analysis skills to help the department deliver and maintain high quality software solutions and products.  Lead small to medium team through all phases of product development lifecycle including requirement gathering and documentation.  Participate in project planning and design/code reviews with peer team members as necessary to ensure development processes are effectively executed.
 
Assist Project Management in the planning of software projects by providing task descriptions, work estimates, hours and delivery dates as needed to build accurate project plans. Participate in the development of coding and work-flow standards for projects and help communicate these decisions to team members.  Work with 3rd party development teams to co-develop or integrate 3rd party technologies.  Mentor junior members of the team as necessary to grow and spread technical knowledge across the department.
 
Provide expert analytical, troubleshooting and Java skills towards sustaining and maintaining existing software products deployed in the field.  Work closely with QA and customer support to provide tier 3 software support to end-users, and participate in the periodic development, testing and deployment of software patches to these existing products.
 
Required Qualifications
 
7+ years overall software development industry experience including..
-         Full lifecycle software development process
-         Object-Oriented technologies
-         Design patterns
-         Database architecture and design
-         Enterprise-level concurrent high-volume data transaction systems 
-         High volume performance tuning
-         Java J2EE 1.2+ platform (Servlet/JSP)
-         Oracle 8i+ database management systems 
 
6+ years Expert Java programming skills for development of portable cross-platform code. 
 
2+ years experience as a Tech Lead for a small development team or project.
 
Demonstrated experience developing Statement of Work (SOW) proposals that include cost breakdown and resource staffing for medium complexity software development projects
 
Preferred Skills
 
-         Swing UI experience
-         Real-time messaging systems
-         Real-time data distribution and visualization
-         Perl or C++
-	Text processing
