Build Engineer
Job Description
As a Build Engineer, you are responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Informiam’s Software
Configuration Management (SCM) system. You are knowledgeable with technologies and practices used to implement
Continuous Integration (CI) and automated release packaging across multiple product initiatives.
As a technically-focused team member, you will work extensively with various disciplines in the product team and are
expected to follow and enhance our development practices. You must be committed to producing award-winning
applications using state-of-the-art technologies and practices.
Responsibilities
Operate a continuous integration build process.
Design, write, and repair build scripts.
Resolve build, packaging and installation issues.
Contribute to the software release process and technology.
Perform build execution testing individually and in collaboration with the team.
Manage versioning of code assets in a repository.
Support problem resolution efforts by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions
about applications.
Research and evaluate software (including open source libraries and 3rd party products) for inclusion in the
software release process.
Document build design, implementation, and repair decisions.
Communicate status to team members and managers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
2+ years of commercial software development
Embraces command-line development tools
Strong interpersonal skills
Acute attention to detail
Strong communication and writing skills
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Package software for delivery on Linux, Sun Solaris, and Microsoft Windows platforms
