Responsibilities include Messaging Infrastructure, Portal Framework, and portal system components as well as development/design of portal/messaging architecture components, implementation of all portal software components. This person will participate in design sessions for new system components and will be a member of the Application Development Team. This person will be involved in design and implementation of portal architecture, ensuring timely delivery of software components, and providing support for architecture implementation and migration support to new components/architecture.

Essential Job Functions

•  Implement messaging architecture
•  Design and build portal components
•  Implement business rules and workflow 
•  Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
•  Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, able to interact     
    well within a team environment, and able to work with a diverse group of people.
•  Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Elements

Education:	Bachelor’s Degree (CS) required; Masters Degree preferred

Experience:	
•  3-5 years of Java programming experience in a messaging system architecture
•  Java development skills covering all Java standards APIs, Object Oriented design
•  XML, XSL, XSLT and other XML related standards
•  Experience with ActiveMQ, MQSeries or related messaging technologies
•  Excellent time management skills and attention to detail. 
•  Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.  
•  Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent priorities.    
•  Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. 

Additional Considerations:
*  Oracle and Linux skills are pluses, but not required
*  Critical components are heavy Java, messaging system, XML toolsets  
    experience.
*  Understanding of tools like IBM Websphere MQ (MQ Series) and/or Tibco would 
    prove beneficial because of their messaging architecture. 
*  AJAX is a plus.
