Java Software Engineer

This position reports to the Director of Software Development.

Position Summary:

This person develops and maintains computer software systems for the company. This person also performs technical analysis, develops technical specifications for project tasks and works with little supervision. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Establishes and maintains a positive and productive rapport with assigned clients/insurance carriers, proposed policyholders and agents/brokers 
Expedites the resolution of client complaints 
Develops and facilitates documentation of procedure and procedure changes as necessary 
Participates in appropriate aspects of the development, implementation and product support processes to facilitate servicing assigned client/insurance carrier 
Provides system and product training to new team members 
Assists other division units as necessary 
Education/Experience Requirements:

Designs, develops, codes, tests and debugs Java System applications 
Prepares detailed technical specifications and creates scoping documents 
Analyzes and revises existing system logic for current and new systems 
Provides internal technical support for software releases 
Participates in code and specification walkthroughs 
Assists with technical lead for a team of software engineers
