This position is responsible for developing applications, frameworks, and components necessary to support and drive a suite of robust complex Internet applications and E-Business products. The engineer will be involved in all phases of development including design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Work on a team with engineers and architects to formulate and address tactical and strategic initiatives from enhancing existing products to developing new innovative business applications.
Position responsibilities include:
Design, build, document and test Java web based applications
Work within team of Java developers
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Support and help debug Production deployment infrastructure
Work with architects and UI designers to assure product quality
Employ existing processes and tools for improving efficiency of Java development
Develop a highly scalable, distributed, compute intensive system
Participate in design and code reviews
Identify design and architecture problems associated with implementation
Document and test necessary product features and APIs
Position qualifications include:
4+ years of Java application development
4+ years of OOA/D using CASE tools and diagramming tools
4+ years internet application development
2+ years of hands on SQL with a major database
Knowledge of object relational mapping technology and tools
Experience with some or all of Java threads, JDBC, servlets, JSP, and distributed objects
Experience with UNIX based environments and shell programming
Working knowledge of UML
Knowledge of web protocols and languages, e.g., HTTP, XML, HTML, Javascript
Hands on experience with major web servers, application servers or transaction processing
Experience within formal software development process
Referencable ability to deliver working products
Experience developing HR, insurance, payroll or other ERP domain experience
Familiarity with Internet security
DHTML, experience with XML, CVS, Ant, Tomcat, and other open source technologies are preferred
Sense of humor and belief that work can be fun
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
