This position will develop and maintain state-of-the-art integrated commerce applications for a leading global retailer. The focus of this project will be Point of Sale Systems. We are looking for candidates available to start in early November or at latest, December 5th. Initial project duration will be 9 months, but extensions are likely.
Responsibilities
The general responsibilities include:
Work with Business Analysts to capture and understand customer business requirements and processes.
Actively participate in analysis, design and review of assigned features and functions.
Communicate design plans and changes with other developers and customers, both through written and verbal means.
Write code to develop assigned features and related unit tests. (Java, J2EE, JSP, Swing.)
Deliver a quality product in a timely manner and within cost constraints.
We can TRANSFER H1 Visa's, but we are NOT able to do Corp to Corp with 3rd parties.
Job Restrictions:
----------------
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of object-oriented software development experience with Java.
Two to four years of experience using the following technical skills in a development environment: J2EE, RMI, XML, JDBC, web technologies such as JSP servlets and Apache Tomcat.
Experience writing basic SQL and exposure to DB2, Oracle, and MySQL.
Some experience writing and extending Swing applications.
Basic understanding of configuration management principles.
Demonstrated ability to solve moderate to complex application problems independently.
Proven technical skills in analysis and design for enterprise software systems.
Some travel required. Candidates will spend the first 1-2 weeks in Austin, TX for training. After that, all work to be done in Atlanta.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Prior exposure to retail systems and use or knowledge of the Association of Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) preferred.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
