POSITION OVERVIEW
At present we are seeking a Data Analyst. This person will collect, evaluate, and prepare complex statistical data. In addition, this person will prepare statistical and narrative reports, make recommendations, and participate in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. They will also develop, maintain, and ensure quality control of databases as well as assist in development and implementation of measurement systems. 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Position requires: 
   a) utilization of in-depth knowledge of statistical concepts in the development of data collection instruments and methods;
   b) utilization of statistical software and techniques in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets; 
   c) design, development, and administration of complex statistical databases, based on understanding of underlying data requirements; 
   d) design and production of comprehensive computerized data queries and reports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·	Utilizes data collection instruments and methods to evaluate and control quality of data. 
·	Collects, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
·	Maintains computerized collection and tracking of relevant data. 
·	Utilizes specified statistical software to analyze and interpret research data, as appropriate. 
·	Maintains appropriate records of research methods and results. 
·	May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, or interns.
·	Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 
·	Knowledge of research methodology, principles and procedures. 
·	Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data. 
·	Ability to prepare research reports and proposals.
·	Ability to utilize statistical computer software. 
·	Ability to gather and analyze statistical data. ·	Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
·	Experience with pharmaceutical database systems a plus.
