Moore from Pivotal Labs will present 'Test-Driving Android Applications with
Robolectric'. Please see below for details or visit http://www.ajug.org.
Also, here are other upcoming AJUG meetings:

*This month's meeting details:*
*When:* July 19, 2011 @ 7:00pm
**
*Who:* Joe Moore
*What:* Test-Driving Android Applications with Robolectric
*Description:*
Running tests on an Android emulator or device is slow! Building, deploying,
and launching the app often takes a minute or more. Robolectric (
http://pivotal.github.com/robolectric/index.html) is a unit test framework
that de-fangs the Android SDK jar so you can test-drive the development of
your Android app inside the JVM on your workstation in seconds.
I will talk about why and how we built Robolectric and will live-TDD common
scenarios: adding buttons and events to an app, adding Activities, and
testing 3rd-party API integration (HTTP traffic).
*Our Speakers:*
Joe Moore began his software career thirteen years ago at a large insurance
company. He soon moved to Evant, a start-up which became a case study for
agile software development processes. After spending several years as a
consultant for companies including CNet and Compuware, Joe joined Pivotal
Labs in 2005 as one of the founding members of Pivotal's Ruby on
Rails-focused practice. Joe has led projects at a wide variety of clients,
from one-person start-ups to the world's largest social networks and search
companies. Joe works for Pivotal Labs remotely from Atlanta, where he
remote-pair programs full time with developers in San Francisco and New Your
City.
