The next Women In Java and Information Technology (WIJIT) meeting will
be on Wed., 2/24/2010.......iPhone Application Basics........all are
welcome!

 

Learn the basics of iPhone application development. What do you need to
know to get started? XCode, Interface Builder,  iPhone SDK and simulator
are all a part of the process. Unlike web application environments, a
mobile phone offers an API for location based services. We'll take a
peek at the following:

*         A general overview of the iPhone from an application
development perspective 

*         A survey of the different methods for building applications
for the iPhone 

*         Something more specific, like how to access the device
features like the GPS, camera, etc.

 

About the speaker:

Greg Crisp graduated from SPSU in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Science. Working in the Atlanta IT bit mines -- for companies
both large and small -- he began building mobile-oriented services in
2000. Two years ago, he focused his efforts on the iPhone platform. His
latest application -- a Hip-Hop and gaming focused app -- is now
available in the Apple app store. In his spare time he hikes Kennesaw
Mountain with his two Weimaraners.
