Time: 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM

We have a new sponsor for the Atlanta Java Users Group - Intercontinental
Exchange (www.theice.com <http://www.theice.com/> ). They will be making an
initial introduction during September's meeting.
Description: Hibernate (www.hibernate.org/) is the industry's most popular
Object Relational Mapping (ORM) software and we have the Hibernate Search
project lead, Emmanuel Bernard, coming to AJUG for a presentation on
Hibernate Search. Hibernate Search brings the power of full text search
engines to the persistence domain model and the Hibernate experience,
through transparent configuration (Hibernate Annotations) and a common API.
In addition, Emmanuel will give us overview of Hibernate Shards, a
technology for horizontal partitioning of data across multiple databases.
Initially contributed by Google, Hibernate Shards is now part of the
hibernate portfolio.
About our Speaker:
After graduating from Supelec (French "Grande Ecole"), Emmanuel has spent a
few years in the retail industry where he started to be involved in the ORM
space. He joined the Hibernate team 4 years ago and is now a core developer
at JBoss, a division of Red Hat.
Emmanuel is the lead developer of Hibernate Annotations and Hibernate
EntityManager, two key projects on top of Hibernate core implementing the
Java Persistence(tm) specification, as well as Hibernate Search and
Validator.
Emmanuel is a member of the EJB 3.0 expert group and the JSR 303: Bean
Validation expert group.
Emmanuel travels the world and has recently been a speaker for JavaOne (San
Francisco), Jazoon (Zurich), various JUGs and we are very excited to have
him in Atlanta on September 18th! If we ask him nicely, he'll perform the
presentation in French.
