Hello Atlanta Java Developers,

A big thank you to Ben Galbraith for coming down to Atlanta and taking
time away from his family, well, at least part of his family ;-).
You can find the materials that he is interested in making freely
available at http://www.galbraiths.org/presentations.html

Web 2.0 and AJAX are receiving significant attention from the press,
the industry, open source gurus and vendors. This particular segment
of the market is moving incredibly fast and I would like some local
Atlantans to step up and help out. Many of you are using some flavor
of AJAX in your current web application projects or perhaps you are
simply playing with various AJAX or Web 2.0 toolkits, frameworks,
websites, etc. Please contact me if you are willing to put on a 10
minute demonstration of your application or simply a cool
widget/gadget or website that you have found.
In other words, if you have been planning around with DWR or Dojo or
www.ning.com or something like it, please consider giving the next
AJUG meeting a 10 minute overview/demo.
We want the community to show the community what you think is cool,
not just the "expert" speaker that we've brought in to address the
audience. We want to hear more about your projects and what kinds of
problems you are solving with Java.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
A BIG THANK YOU to Gunnar Hilbert. He has taken the work related to
the AJUG Job Postings site to a whole new level and has even open
sourced the technology as JRecruiter (http://www.jrecruiter.org/).

The job market continues to sizzle and we encourage all recruiters and
hiring managers to post there requirements at the AJUG Jobs portion of
our website:
http://www.ajug.org/ajugjobs/welcome.do

One of our sponsors, Anteo Group, specializes in placing Java
candidates and you can find more information at their website:
http://www.anteogroup.com/.

In addition, JBoss (a division of Red Hat), a sponsor of the Atlanta
Java Users Group is also hiring technical talent in Atlanta as well as
looking for senior Java engineers/architects around the use. If you
are interested simply send me a note.

It is good to be in the software business again! We'll see you next month.

Sincerely,
Burr
