Webservices; looking for a webservice example over an email proxy

Just asking around;   I'm looking for a webservice example or jump start 
for a webservice over an email proxy or service. 

IE: a client makes WS / Soap calls through this service to fetch msg 
headers and msgs from my Mindspring account.  All said and done a medium 
amount of work that I'm looking for a jump start on.
