Re: [ajug-members]: Eclipse performance on linux... (A poll maybe?)
Hey :)
I've been trying for a while to get a good Java IDE under OSX -- I
tried XCode, but it's just not as powerful as some of the more free
tools out there, such as Eclipse.
I tried Eclipse 2 under OSX -- unbearable. Then I tried M7, and it was
better, but M8 has been the best of all thus far. Performance wise, it
seems to be in line with M7, but the usability is way up. If you have
not tried M8 yet, I highly recommend that you do (although I'm not sure
if they have M8 available for the Linux platform).
I am new to this list, but let me somewhat introduce myself. I'm the
CTO/Lead Programmer for Hannon Hill, which produces an enterprise
content management tool
(http://www.hannonhill.com/solutions/contentxml/index.html) that runs
on top of JBoss (currently 3.2.3).
So if you have any questions about JBoss, please don't hesitate to ask
me. I have bought the basic documentation ($10 PDF I believe), but
have learned a great deal about JBoss just from reading the forums
every day on jboss.org.
Good luck, and I look forward to the next AJUG meeting.
