RE: [ajug-members]: JSF performance

Hi Chinmay,

I’m not aware of any performance studies that have been done yet on JSF and made public.  I follow this space very closely and keep an extensive set of resources for JavaServerFaces on my website at:

There is a project for unit testing JSF called jsftest, but I don’t think there’s any performance stuff out yet.  If you come across anything, please share with the group.

Subject: [ajug-members]: JSF performance

We are planning to incorporate the JSF 1.0 reference implementation from Sun and Tiles into a production-grade system. We have been using JSF 0.4 and 1.0b with the Struts faces integration library in test scenarios and prototypes.

We are currently in the process of measuring JSF performance under some typical test scenarios. Does anyone know of any performance benchmarks that could be used to measure JSF? Any studies on JSF performance by industry giants (like IBM or Sun or …)? What I’m looking for is a general analysis of JSF more than a study of the JSF 1.0 RI from sun specifically. I expect that if the JSF spec is solid, a better implementation will come along eventually.
