Another Applet question (applets and Active Desktop)

Looks like today's the day for asking applet questions.

Really this is more of a Windows question.

I am having problems on some Windows machines using an applet on a page from
within active desktop.  The applet works fine within IE, but when the same
page is used as an active desktop, it doesn't work on most machines I've
tried.

I'm thinking that there may be separate registry settings for the active
desktop that are not affected by the IE settings.  But I'm just guessing.

Any ideas?
