Embeded Systems using J2ME/JAVA in Linux
After the graduate last year and having a difficulty
to get a right position in IT, i sort of abandoned
using C++ in terms of market share. (well i think I
almost forgot about STL in C++). And i decided to move
to IT area utilizing JAVA/J2EE/XML/Content Management
tools like websphere/JBossfrom soft(who said 'soft'
it's hard) engineering using C++
But recently, i was interested in developing some
telecom/wireless/voice embededed soft or hard realtime
systems in Linux.
Those telecom guys like Motorola,Siemens,Nokia and
Samsung looked interested in developing in Linux
envionment.
My doubt is
Is java okay to match the speed of rapid growing
embeded stuffs mainly using DSPs in Linux stuffs? If
so, how much do we need to deal with native C code
and/or assemly line. I don't have any background of
J2ME or these embeded systems(network
telecom/wireless/voice) in Java. And i hate to go back
and debugg ANSI C and Posix stuffs.
Thank you
