WEEKEND INTRODUCTION TO JBOSS: Atlanta, February 1-2

This new, compressed-format offering, run by Marc Fleury and other core developers, is designed to introduce the busy professional to JBoss. Considering using JBoss for your next project? Get started on the right foot. We introduce you to all that JBoss has to offer in hour-long sessions throughout the weekend. This is your opportunity to pose your JBoss questions directly to the JBoss developers and get the information you need.

The weekend is broken down into hour long-presentations on all the framework services. We cover what is currently offered by the services' production versions as well as give you roadmaps for the future development of JBoss. Get your Source knowledge directly from the JBoss developers.

GET IN SHAPE AT THE JBOSS BOOTCAMP

The introductory BOOTCAMP will take place at the Swissotel in Atlanta, Georgia on the weekend of February 1 and 2, from 8-5 on Saturday and 8-2 on Sunday.

The schedule for Saturday and Sunday is as follows:

  • Overview-- 8-9AM. JBoss the server and JBoss the business. Where we are with JBoss 3.x, where we are going with JBoss4.x, and the business of JBoss Group.
  • EJB/CMP-- 9-11AM. The EJB container of JBoss is fully CMP2.0 compliant. Discover the persistence engine and how you can extend our EJB implementation.
  • Security--11-12AM. Introduction to the security framework of J2EE and its extensions in JBoss.
  • Web/JSP-- 1-2PM. Integrated weblayers with Tomcat.
  • Clustering-- 2-3PM. JBoss support various cluster modes for EJB.
  • JMX-- 3-4PM. Discover the MBean format and the lifecycle of JBoss.
  • JCA-- 4-5PM. JCA 1.5 in JBoss and how to configure your datasources.
  • XDoclet-- 8-9AM. Code with meta-tags in the body of the code to accelerate your development.
  • Boot/NetBoot-- 9-10AM. Configuring your JBoss own JBoss instance and net-boot for farm deployment.
  • Performance-- 10-11AM. Smart cache usage and pattern that help you boost performance.
  • AOP/JB4-- 11-12AM. The future of JBoss 4.0 the generalized AOP framework.
  • Business-- 12-1PM. JBoss Group and the business of Free Software.
  • Conclusion-- 1-1:30PM.
