I recently purchased MagicDraw to address my UML needs.  I am very pleased with this tool.  Unfortunately the scope 
of the tool does not include ERD diagrams which of course is not part of UML but something that I need to develop a 
database.

What are other developers using to do ERD models? Visio is one alternative.  I would prefer something that is a Java 
app but that might be a stretch.  Is there anything going on in the open source arena?
