Re: J2EE Study Group

Hi Ron,

Sorry for the JSL web site being a bit behind in it's maintenance.

www.jcon.org/jsl

The webmaster is working too hard the days (Cindy Nelson a java
developer now
working in another field) and the exact dates of our every other Thurs.
meetings
hasn't kept up with the passing days. ;-(

Aug. 22 is the next JSL meeting. If it helps, JSL's meetings are the
same week as
the Web Services (Monday) meetings, also every other week. See:
http://www.xmlaug.org/ws-sig/

JSL's program material has done a good job of following past practice of
jumping around. ;-(
With a strong focus on J2EE, EJB, real world java and enterprise
problems and their solutions.
We're working our way through the free downloadable Mastering EJB 2nd
edition and
using JBoss+Jetty as the J2EE platform.

The group's interest also includes SCEA certification study and I plan
on doing a series on
the SCEA part 2 project, with a real project based on TogetherJ6.x that
parallels what
would be typical in the real world and SCEA.

The subject for 8/22's meeting is "EJB Design guidelines". I've been
posting several documents
and URLs to the JSL mail list for folks to start looking at and
discussing prior to the next meeting.

Any web resources AJUG members might offer would be greatly appreciated.
 An example of
so-so helps would be this URL:

http://java.sun.com/blueprints/guidelines/designing_enterprise_applications_2e/book.pdf

Take care,

curt
