Special Announcement

I thought this would be applicable to the group, as I received many
questions concerning this issue at the last meeting. Here is a project
to get started on, that can also help you get a job.

Help Rebuild JavaJobs.com Using J2EE Technology
When Doug launched JavaJobs.com he had no idea that the perl scripts he
created one
weekend would continue to power the site for years to come. Having since
designed and
built J2EE solutions for some of the biggest companies in the world,
Doug is eager to make
JavaJobs.com a state-of-the-art example of J2EE best practices for
enterprise Java
developers. He has been working hard on a new design that leverages Java
web
services, XML standards for the human resources industry, and full J2EE
compatibility to
power up a reusable HR solution which Javalobby will make freely
available as an open
source reference application. Doug is looking for people to help with
implementing the new
web services design and strategy for JavaJobs.com. This project is an
ideal challenge for
Javalobby volunteers to sink their teeth into, and the results of the
effort will benefit
members of our own community and promote the general advancement of Java
and J2EE.
Email volunteer@javalobby.org today and mention that you'd like to work
on the JavaJobs
project.

Regards,
Ben Sabrin
