scanning attachment

I have created a file repository in Java that allows people to upload
files.  This file repos has security, searching, etc.  The searching
feature simply allows you to search by category, file name, etc.  I now
need to add the ability to search through the files for phrases/words.
Has anyone used Java to do anything like this?  I am looking for ideas
or a direction to head in.  Thanks for your time!
