It supports it, albeit limited.  I've had numerous problems with N 6 and 
Java....the largest one being an intermitent problem with disappearing 
applet parameters.  Only documented thing I've found is that it won't 
accept param lists longer than 40, but I've seen it accept them in the 
hundreds.  However, every one and awhile some of them just disappear...
