RE: Java certification: is it worthwhile?
I'm going to get a Sun java architect certificate. Does any one know a good
source of getting a study guide on this, any books or papaers or websites?

You said it perfectly. I'm in the same situation as you Ed and I got
certified last week. It adds a little perk to your resume and I felt I
became a little better developer by reviewing the basics needed for the
test. Also, if you're every planning on getting any of Sun's higher
certifications like J2EE Architect, it's a prereq.
