Has anyone installed the NetDirect DB2 driver JDataConnect

I am working with an application which has the Hit DB2 driver installed.  
Our client has tried to use our application with the Merant DB2 driver, but 
this driver cannot handle low-values.

I am currently trying to install the NetDirect DB2 driver JDataConnect on my 
local machine to see if this driver will work with our application.

The documentation is not clear on telling me how to get started using DB2.  
I am somewhat new to Java ...
Need Assistance...
