Re: AJUG Jobs in ghost town usa?
Now, how about we do a follow up to your research. OF the 240 posting on computerjobs, how many of them are from recruiting companies? If we use the front page from the computer jobs listing for JAVA, 16 of the 20 jobs are from recruiting firms. I don't have the time to see if that 80% holds true throughout, but my guess would be yes. I could be wrong.
The first job I saw when I looked at Monster and typed in Java is for a UNIX systems admin. Hotjobs is the only site that is mostly original companies and funny enough the numbers are the lowest. I have been through the java listing on hotjobs, a lot of them are for JavaScript.
We are offering the jobs posting service to our corporate sponsors, which help pay for AJUG to be in existence. It is their choice weather or not to post jobs. We only want this forum to be for companies supporting AJUG. Unless every member of AJUG would like to pay $15 at the door for every meeting, we need to find ways to fund the group. The job post
is one. If this was last year, there would be 5 times the amount of jobs on the AJUG site regardless of cost.
