Description:
Perhaps you have heard the all the buzz about Aspect Oriented Programming -
AOP. Like many new buzzwords it promises to save the world, cure cancer and
feed the hungry. From a practical standpoint it could have as big an impact
on software engineering as OOP. This meeting will provide you with an
introduction to AOP on the Java platform along with demonstrations and code
examples of implementations and the possible impacts on future Java/J2EE
projects. Tools like AspectJ implement the "paradigm". Platforms like JBoss
4 are architected on AOP principles.

Speaker: Our very own James Holmes of Struts Console fame.

As always we like to thank our sponsors that provide resources for our
meeting facilities, A/V equipment and website hosting: BEA (www.bea.com),
BravePoint (www.bravepoint.com), Inflow (www.inflow.com) and Spectrum
Software (www.spectrumscm.com).

August Meeting:
We will be running a session on J2EE Web Application Development. This will
consist of an introduction to JSP 2.0, EL, JSTL and JSF. Sun is very
focused on capturing more developer mindshare and these new features in JSP
are aimed at pulling in the VB, ASP, ColdFusion and PHP developers. So bring
out your J2EE newbies, all of those ASP developers in the cubicle next door,
for a taste of the latest and greatest in the Java world.

Any job openings? Please let us know.
