Java Users Meeting - next week Tuesday
This month's meeting will be next Tuesday, March 19th from 6:30 pm to 9:30
pm.
We'll have pizza and soft drinks available at 6:30 and 30 minutes for
meeting, greeting and networking with other AJUG members. The actual
presentation will begin at 7:00 pm.
It has come to my attention that a number of our membership has recently
become unemployed. Any companies that have Java jobs available please feel
free to use our Job Post Servlet at http://www.ajug.org/jobs/index.html to
advertise your open positions and I'll also make some announcements at this
month's meeting for those organizations that are hiring.
The meeting will be held at the Ravinia Conference Center (our normal
location). See http://www.ajug.org/meetings/ for directions and a map.
March's meeting is focused on UML.
This presentation addresses the UML and its benefits beyond the usual
perception of just an architectural notation for software analysis and
design. Rather than focus on the abstract and academic, this session will
discuss how implementing the UML directly within an Integrated Modeling and
Development Environment (IMDE) increases effectiveness throughout the
application development lifecycle. Additional topics to be discussed are
system navigation, refactoring, task automation, and code documentation and
support.
Our scheduled presenter is Stephen Nikitin from Embarcadero Technologies.
As always, we would like to thank our sponsors -
Accenture (www.accenture.com), BEA Systems (www.bea.com), Bluestone
(www.bluestone.com), Inflow (www.inflow.com), Pencom (www.pencom.com), and
TogetherSoft (www.togethersoft.com) for supporting AJUG and the Atlanta Java
community.
See you there.
