Job Description We are growing our San Francisco team and on the search for a web ninja who lives and breathes web technologies. The Javascript/HTML5 Developer will be responsible for the development of UrtheCast’s front-end mapping controls and mobile implementation for both mapping and video.

Here's what we're looking for:

- 3+ years of web development and mobile web application development
- Extensive experience with pure Javascript/jQuery, HTML5 and Node.js
- Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs (like Google Maps, Twitter, Facebook, etc)
- Knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design and cross-browser compatibility
- Interest and flexibility in fulfilling multiple roles
- Enthusiasm for innovation in the tech industry

Bonus points for:

- College education in Computer Science/Engineering or related
- Knowledge of PHP/CakePHP
- Prior experience in a startup environment

So, who are we and what are we doing?

UrtheCast (pronounced "EarthCast") is a company created around a unique vision: to provide the world's first ever, live HD video feed of Earth from space. Working in an exclusive relationship with world-famous Russian Aerospace giant RSC Energia, UrtheCast is building, launching, installing, and operating two cameras on the Russian module of the International Space Station. Starting in Fall 2012, video data of the Earth collected by our cameras will be down-linked to ground stations around the planet and then displayed in near real time on the UrtheCast web platform or distributed directly to our exclusive partners and customers.
