Job Description

DISYS is currently looking for a Senior Developer with architecture skills to join one of the best companies to work for in Atlanta. This will be a key role in extending open source architecture within this team.

The consultant will write programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. In addition, he/she will be responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Review and approve the development of software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
o Counsel engineering staff on hardware and software, and direct staff to develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems
o Advise customer about the maintenance of software system
o Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures
o Inform customers or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance
o Direct software programming and development of documentation
o Perform other duties as assigned

Job Restrictions

Skills and Competencies:
The Top 3 Technical Skills/Experience Necessary for this role:
- Service Oriented Architecture - SOA (both development and architecture experience
- Web site or distribution experience in Hospitality
- High end transactional system
- Full competency with Java/J2EE development (hands-on programming with some architecture)
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
o Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time
o Expert mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
o Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
o Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
o Expert knowledge of computer hardware and software
o Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc

Education/Experience
o Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field required
o 10+ years experience required
- Hospitality Web or B2B experience is highly preferred
- Experience with SOA implementations / OTA is highly preferred
